I can’t believe it’s November! Ahhh! Fall is my favorite season, so I am LOVING it! The trees are changing color and it’s reminding me all over again why I fell in love with New Hampshire. We have a trail in the woods behind our house and when you’re walking on it, you feel like you’re in a whole new world (did you start singing Aladdin? Me too. ) I love being out there this time of year because all you can smell are the leaves; it’s a beautiful place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Okay, so now that I’ve gone off on my tangent, let’s get back to why you’re here! I’ve been doing a lot of Pinteresting lately and found some of the most beautiful DIY projects for fall; I just had to share.
I read somewhere once that the scent of your home is just as important as the look when it comes to home decor and has a huge impact on the overall feel of your space. Leigh over at Hines-Sight has put together some yummy smelling diffuser recipes for fall that are sure to make your home smell divine! If you don’t have a diffuser, check out these stove top recipes from Silas and Grace over at Chasing Foxes.
I love the smell of cinnamon any time of year, but only ever see the scented pinecones in store around Christmas time. When I found this tutorial on how to make cinnamon scented pinecones at home, I was pumped! You do have to let them sit for a time, so you gotta jump on this project early in the season.
This post from the Style Edit has two types of DIY home decor for fall; a beautiful candle centerpiece and a simple, yet elegant, door wreath. You can check both of them out here.
My friend Julie over at My Wee Abode made the most beautiful velvet pumpkins for less than $5 a piece! You can check out how she did it here. She also has some adorable decoupage pumpkins there too! I love the coastal farmhouse spin she puts on her fall decor. I am totally hoarding my pumpkins stems from this year so I can tackle this project with some leftover fabric for next year for $0 😉

These autumn mason jar candles would pair up perfectly with the bowl I talked about before. Unfortunately, the post doesn’t have a full tutorial with it, just pictures to guide you. As long as you follow the same instructions as the autumn leaf bowl, minus the plastic wrap and maybe use real leaves instead of fake ones, I’m sure they’ll turn out great!
I’ve never thought of a doormat as a piece of interchangeable home decor, but this one has me thinking differently! How stinking cute, right!? Check out the tutorial here.
If you are on a super tight budget like me, then these dollar store fall decor ideas will be right up your alley! I’d put the burlap pumpkins on my bookshelves and the white “Give Thanks” ones across my mantel in a heartbeat.

I have been obsessed with the look of white pumpkins this year. While I love the colors of fall, there’s just something about the white ones that have me all gah gah and googly eyed. I haven’t seen any this year that have fit my budget, so these inexpensive DIY pumpkins are perfect and will look stunning in the farmhouse pumpkin bucket! 😉 Beth walks you through how to paint both real AND fake pumpkins in her tutorial.

I love how you mentioned that you love the fall colors but really appreciate the color of white pumpkins to complete the autumn look in your home. My wife and I are hoping to find some fun home decor items that we can keep up throughout the year. We’re currently trying to find some rustic looking flags that we can hang to remind us of the benefits of living in this great country.
Hi Sam!
What a fantastic idea! The rustic look is always a favorite for me. My neighbor has a wooden one on her front porch and I can’t help but stare anytime I go by. My husband is a Navy Veteran so we are always ready and willing to show our support. Thank you for the inspiration!

Design is simple, natural, and has an earthy feel about it. Raw materials are also common, so rather than finding a sleek, glossy burl wood, you’ll find more reclaimed and unfinished woods and stones.
You’re so right! I am working on a few projects now to introduce more raw materials; it is an amazing addition to any look!
Have a great weekend!

To ensure that you can enjoy this sparkly beauty all season long, glue gold sequins to a plastic white pumpkin instead of a real one.
What a great idea! Thank you so much for your input.
Have a great weekend!
